Esta é uma exposição realizada pelos alunos do primeiro ano B do Centro Helen Keller.
Este ano tínhamos como proposta entrarmos no mundo da arte e percebermos o que dentro dela existe. Foram vários os projetos que realizamos, desde a interpretação de Vivaldi numa folha de papel (usando quatro técnicas diferentes), ao uso de diversos materiais na reprodução de arte em tela passando pela interpretação das obras de Van Gogh com papel rasgado, sem nunca esquecer o trabalho de pesquisa sobre cada um dos artistas trabalhados. Queremos com isto dizer que criamos uma grande curiosidade pela arte no seu todo.
Entretanto, no segundo período, fomos surpreendidos com uma proposta do nosso colega Santiago. Imaginem só, queria que pintássemos telas tendo como inspiração José de Guimarães e Gabriel Garcia para depois realizarmos uma exposição na Galeria António Prates. Não hesitamos em aceitar e por mãos à obra.
Ao longo dos últimos três meses realizamos um árduo trabalho de pesquisa sobre os pintores e tentamos dar o nosso melhor na interpretação da arte da cada um deles.
Hoje, apresentamos o resultado final e esperamos que gostem tanto dele como nós. Com este trabalho aprendemos a respeitar a arte, a diferença, o belo e até o que nos parece feio à primeira vista.
Sejam felizes nesta viagem pela arte aos nossos olhos.
Muito obrigada ao Santiago por esta proposta que tanto nos ensinou e aos seus pais António Prates e Carina Rosa que foram incansáveis ao longo do processo. Obrigada também por nos terem comprado material maravilhoso para que hoje, nesta galeria, conseguíssemos ter uma exposição tão especial.

This is an exhibition made by the students of the 1st year B of the Centro Hellen Keller.
This year we had the proposal of entering the art world and realize what there is inside it. There were many the projects that we performed, from the interpretation of Vivaldi in a sheet of paper (using four different techniques), to the use of different materials in the creation of art on canvas passing from the artworks of Van Gogh with torn paper, without never forgetting the research made on each of the artists worked. We want, with this, to say that we created a great curiosity for art in its whole.
Meanwhile, in the 2nd trimester, we were surprised by a proposal from our colleague Santiago. Imagine only, he wanted us to paint canvas having as an inspiration José de Guimarães and Gabriel Garcia to then organize an exhibition at Galeria António Prates. We didn’t hesitate and accepted to get to work.
During these last 3 months, we worked hard researching each of the artists and gave our best interpreting the art of each one of them.
Today, we present the final result and hope you like it as much as we do. With this work, we learned to respect the art, the difference, the beautiful and even what seems ugly at first sight.
Be happy on this journey through art through our eyes.
Thank you very much to Santiago for this proposal that taught us so much and to his parents António Prates and Carina Rosa, who were untirable throughout all the process. Thank you also for acquiring all the wonderful material so that today, in this gallery, we could have such a special exhibition.

This is an initiative that I support with pleasure and a lot of affection.
It’s an honour to collaborate with the Centro Hellen Keller.
It is also an enormous privilege to feel the joy and enthusiasm of these “inch and a half” artists that exhibit their artworks in a contemporary art gallery.
The sale recipes of these artworks will convert at 100% to the Centro Hellen Keller for new initiatives related to the artistic component.
